UnaEnroll shows which sign-up window applies to you, what paperwork to gather, and prepares your health insurance quote ahead of the deadline.

Two ways to sign up for an ACA plan

Open Enrollment

Every fall · begins November 1

Anyone can pick a new individual or family plan or switch plans. The closing date depends on your state, and the date you sign up decides when coverage starts. Earlier usually means a January 1 start.

Special Enrollment Period

Any time of year · usually 60 days

Certain life changes open a window outside the fall period, generally lasting 60 days from the event. Miss it and you may need to wait for the next Open Enrollment.

Life changes that commonly open a Special Enrollment Period

  • Lost coverage A job-based plan ended, or you aged off a parent's plan at 26.
  • Moved To a new ZIP code or county with different plan options.
  • Household changed Marriage, a birth, or an adoption.
  • Coverage became unaffordable For example, an employer plan's cost changed.

Exact rules and documents required vary. The Health Insurance Marketplace or your state exchange makes the final call on any Special Enrollment Period.

What does it cost?
Nothing. There is no cost to use UnaEnroll and no obligation to purchase anything.
I missed Open Enrollment. Is it too late?
Not always. A recent life change may give you a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days long. Check the list above.
Why the optional text boxes?
Some people like a text when their quote is ready. Others don't. Each box is separate, starts unchecked, and you can reply STOP at any time.
